This is a very special show that I covered as a photographer, for two reasons. The first one is that seeing Simple Plan at Centre Bell is really nice and makes me go back to my teenage years. The second one is that I am really happy to announce that I am now shooting for a new magazine: Vecteur Magazine. (More about this here).
I had a bit of pressure but I think I made it work! Also if you are wondering why there is only one band here, the reason is that the main act was The Offspring, but they refused all photographers except one (more about that in the “photographer corner” at the end of the post). So we only got to shoot Simple Plan who was the opening act (but it is a really nice first act !).

It is really enjoyable to have the first act of this quality ! Their show is nice. They have really nice lighting, which is pretty nice from a photographer’s point of view. Do not hesitate to lower the isos and increase the shutter speed, you should have all the light you need.
You may need a fast shutter if you want to get a couple of jump shots. Watch for the singer (Pierre Bouvier) and one of the guitar players (Jeff Stinco) who has high chance to jump. Do not like me and fail the focus because you were not paying attention for the jump (I was on the opposite of the stage at that moment).
Also during this tour, they are using some CO2 Jet but no pyro (at least not during the first three songs).
As I was saying earlier, Simple plan is opening for the Offspring. For us, no photographers were allowed during the Offspring set, we only got Simple Plan. From what I heard, they often allow only one local photographer in the pit who will send his photos to all the media.
Not sure if they do that 100% of the time, but it seems they at least do it really often.

Thank Vecteur Magazine, who allowed me to get to Centre Bell to shoot the event.
Let me know what you think about the photos!
