Perturbator at Theatre Corona – 08-09-2022

Another night of live music in Montreal with something more “electronic” but a bit metal though. It was Perturbator playing at Theatre Corona.

They were supported by Health, which I never heard of and was truly amazing, and Street Sects.

It was not my first time shooting Perturbator, I saw them a couple of years ago at La SAT, and it was a really nice show. Sadly their lighting setup and effects seem not to have changed much. But the concert was really nice! If you like SYnthwave, I strongly suggest going see them live.

Here are my photos!

From a photographer’s point of view, the first two bands were really hard to photograph. Almost no lights, a lot of stroboscopic effects… I manage to get some good results, but I add plenty of images with bad focus or not enough light as the autofocus of my R6 was struggling in the dark.

Perturbator has a great lighting setup, easier to shoot. But sadly there were mounted on some platforms. So with the stage already a bit high, it was really hard to have a good view of the drummer. And it was still lacking a bit of light. My previous experience felt better, even if I did not have access to a pit at La SAT. But still, I got some good keepers.

Thank Thorium Mag, who allowed me to get to MTelus to shoot the event.

Let me know what you think about the photos!

Have a good day.
